Statement regarding west campus accident
Queen’s University regrets to inform the community about a serious accident at Duncan McArthur Hall on west campus.
Two male first-year residence students were on the roof of the building and fell through a skylight to the floor of the library just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
Both were taken to hospital. No further details are being released at this time.
“This is a terrible shock,” says Principal Daniel Woolf. “Our thoughts are with the students and their friends and families. Counsellors are available to talk to students who need support.”
Police are investigating. The university will provide more information as soon as possible.
“This is a stressful time of year with classes ending and exams starting next week,” says John Pierce, Associate Vice-Principal and Dean of Student Affairs. “Students are encouraged to contact Health, Counselling and Disability Services at 613-533-6000 ext. 78264 to access services and resources.”
