A small fire broke out this morning in the loading dock area at the Queen's Centre construction site.Workers used a fire extinguisher to put out the small blaze that started on a lift truck. There was no damage to the building and no one was hurt. The local fire department was called, and, following established PCL emergency procedures the site was evacuated until the smoke was cleared out. Work has resumed.
The Queen's Centre is scheduled to open this fall. It will integrate academics, sport and recreation, student and community activities in a state-of-the-art complex in the centre of campus.
