Queen's alum named editor of Globe and Mail

John Stackhouse (BCOMM’85) has been named editor-in-chief of The Globe and Mail. Mr. Stackhouse has been with the paper since 1989 and has served as editor of the Report on Business since 2004.
The winner of five National Newspaper Awards, Mr. Stackhouse spent time as a foreign correspondent based in New Delhi, writing about issues across Southeast Asia and Africa. His 2001 book, Out of Poverty was based on his time in Asia, and he also wrote a cross-Canada hitchhiking diary, Timbit Nation. When he returned to Canada, Mr. Stackhouse worked as the Globe and Mail’s correspondent-at-large.
Mr. Stackhouse and his family live in Toronto.
