Political science professor Janet Hiebert is the winner of the 2008 Bora Laskin National Fellowship in Human Rights Research.

This one-year SSHRC award worth $45,000 supports multidisciplinary research that develops Canadian expertise in human rights.

Dr. Hiebert will examine Parliament's reaction when courts rule some laws contrary to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
