Policy Studies prof appointed Ontario Research Chair

Policy Studies professor Arthur Sweetman has been appointed as the inaugural Ontario Research Chair in Health Human Resources. He will assume his new position at McMaster University on July 1.
Expressing his sadness at leaving Queen's, Dr. Sweetman notes that the new appointment will offer "an excellent opportunity to look in depth at a very important policy issue. It is also an opportunity to productively interact with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to produce information that will be useful to policymakers in making decisions about health human resources in Ontario."
An expert in health policy, social policy, education policy, economic and immigration issues, Dr. Sweetman is currently cross-appointed in the departments of Economics and Community Health and Epidemiolgy.
The new chair is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as part of its health human resources strategy, Health Force Ontario. Selection of these Ontario Research Chairs is done through the Council of Ontario Universities.
