Memorial tree planting for student
2010-04-13
Students, staff and faculty are invited to a tree planting in memory of 18 year old Jack Windeler who died on March 27.
A ceremony will be held by the Summerhill tennis courts on Wednesday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m.
Jack was in first year arts and science and a resident of Leonard Hall. Tragically, he chose to end his life.
Queen's is encouraging students to take advantage of the supports available through residences and Health, Counselling and Disability services if they're feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
Jack's family has said they hope talking about his death can help others and reduce the stigma around mental illness.
