Memorial to be held for Professor Emeritus Norman Macintosh
A memorial will be held for Professor Emeritus Norman Macintosh on Aug. 27.A memorial for Norman Macintosh, Professor Emeritus, Queen's School of Business, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 2 – 4 pm in the Goodes Hall atrium. Dr. Macintosh passed away in May.
Professor Macintosh came to Queen's in 1967 where he served for more than three decades. He was the only professor to garner the School of Business Research Excellence Award twice. He was inducted into the Queen's School of Business Faculty Hall of Fame in 2009.
His visiting appointments in Europe, the United States, Australia and Asia testify to the international reach of his research and teaching. Two of his books are regarded as classics in the field of behavioural accounting. His articles, published in the top academic journals in his field, attracted worldwide attention and continue to be widely cited by his peers. Dr. Macintosh received both research and teaching awards from the Canadian Academic Accounting Association during his career.
Dr. Macintosh is survived by his wife, Joan, sons Bruce and Cameron, and three grandchildren.
