Long-time Art History professor dies
Queen's flags are flying at half mast in memory of J. Douglas Stewart, an emeritus professor in the Department of Art. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 25 for Dr.Stewart, who passed away July 21 at St. Mary's of The Lake Hospital. It will take place at the Cathedral Church of St. George, 270 King St. E.(at Johnson Street) at 1:30 pm.
Interment will be at Cataraqui Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Kingston Symphony Association or to Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Queen's University.
Professor Stewart is survived by his wife, Mary (Cotterell) Stewart; daughter Georgiana and her partner Ross Greenough; daughter Venetia and her husband John Gauthier and sister Mary and her husband Jon Scoates of Nanaimo, B.C.
Arrangements are in the care of Robert Reid & Sons Funeral Home, 309 Johnson St.
