Global solar company coming to Kingston

Queen’s has helped bring one of the world’s leading solar power companies to Kingston.

G&R Inc., a global leader in the green growth industry, will be moving into Queen’s Innovation Park this month. During the company’s selection process for its Canadian research and administrative operations, G&R Inc. established connections with Queen’s researchers and PARTEQ Innovations, the university’s technology transfer office.
“G&R was able to make numerous decisions in a very short time,” says Janice Mady, director of Innovation Park. “It was a tremendous collaborative effort between Innovation Park, Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO), Queen’s and PARTEQ Innovations to ensure that Kingston was able to meet G&R’s needs and help them establish a Canadian presence.”
Based out of South Korea, G&R Inc. makes solar energy materials for photovoltaic power plants. It’s currently listed on the KOSDQ (Korea Stock Exchange) and reported sales in 2008 of $40 million USD.
