Flags lowered for Professor Emeritus Soberman

Professor Emeritus Daniel Soberman co-founded Queen's Faculty of Law in 1957, and served as its dean from 1967 to 1977.

Flags on campus are lowered in honour of Professor Emeritus Daniel Allan Soberman.

Professor Soberman co-founded Queen’s Faculty of Law in 1957, and served as its dean from 1967 to 1977. He continued to teach law at Queen’s until his retirement in 2001. He received an honorary doctorate from Queen’s in 2008.

Professor Soberman was born in Toronto. He completed a history and law degree at Dalhousie University and then went on to earn a Masters of Law at Harvard University. 

A service to celebrate Professor Soberman’s life will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel (1900 John Counter Boulevard), on Wednesday, July 21 at 1 pm. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.
