Flags lowered for Professor Emeritus Day
Flags on campus are lowered and will remain lowered until Monday, Feb. 7 for James Halliday Day, emeritus professor of medicine at Queen’s.
Dr. Day (BA’53) returned to Queen’s in 1967 where he combined clinical practice, teaching and research. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.
He is the author of over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has served as the principal author of seven book chapters. In July 2002, an endowed chair in allergic diseases and allergy research was created in his name at Queen’s.
The family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Boulevard) on Thursday, Feb. 3 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Sydenham Street United Church on Friday, Feb. 4 at 2 pm and a reception will follow at the University Club.
