Feedback to help inform draft of Strategic Research Plan
Faculty, staff and students have been providing input on the university’s Strategic Research Plan (SRP) process over the last few months. Using that feedback Steven Liss, Vice-Principal (Research) will begin writing an initial draft of the updated SRP this summer.
“It’s been wonderful to see first-hand the enthusiasm our faculty, staff and students have for research at Queen’s,” says Dr. Liss. “The comments and questions we have received will be extremely helpful to me as I begin to draft the new plan.”
Dr. Liss’s draft will be available by early fall for the Research Community Committee’s (RCC) review. The RCC is chaired by Dr. Liss and includes members of the administration, faculty, students, and staff. As discussions unfold around Queen’s research strengths and up-and-coming research areas, feedback from the community will be incorporated into a second draft. The entire process is expected to be complete by late fall or early winter.
Queen’s community members shared ideas, questions and concerns about the SRP process at well-attended town hall meetings; they are invited to comment on the SRP blog as the process continues.
Notes from both town halls, minutes from the most recent RCC meeting, and Dr. Liss’s most recent update on the process are now posted to the SRP blog.
