Over 60 participants attended the first Climate Action Plan community forum on Monday, March 26. Students, faculty and staff heard an overview of the CAP process. They participated in an interactive forum, voting on greenhouse gas emission targets, criteria for evaluating mitigation options, and ideas for integrating climate change into curriculum and research. They also offered ideas toward a vision for climate change on campus. Community members can continue offering their input and feedback about the plan through the Queen’s Sustainability Office Facebook page.
Mike Shoesmith, a third-year chemical engineering student, Ashley Lowcock, a geography master’s student, and Lyn Garrah, an environmental studies master’s student (left to right), cast their votes at the academics and curriculum station.
