Campus memorial service for Andrew Lloyd

A memorial service for upper-year student Andrew Lloyd will be held on Tuesday April 5 in Wallace Hall in the JDUC at 7 pm.

“Together with Andrew’s family and friends, we want to pay tribute to Andrew and share memories and stories about his life and his time at Queen’s,” says University Chaplain Brian Yealland, who will officiate.

Health, Counselling and Disability Services (ext. 78264) and Mr. Yealland (613-533-2186) are available to provide support to students.

Visitation is Thursday April 7 between 4 pm and 8:30 pm at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel at 1403 Bayview Avenue in Toronto.

The funeral service is on Friday April 8 at St Clement’s Anglican Church (59 Briar Hill Avenue) in Toronto at 11 am.

Student Affairs is arranging bus transportation for students who want to attend. Please contact Wendy.Phillips@queensu.ca for more information.

Andrew's family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (Canada) in memory of Andrew J. Lloyd. All proceeds will go towards the building of a school in Andrew's memory through the Lewa Education Program in Kenya. In 2006, Andrew travelled to Kenya and helped build a school at the Lewa Wildlife Reserve. He was a driving force in raising funds for that project.

Queen's will also plant a tree on campus later this year in Andrew’s memory.
