Old can be new again
Moragh Stroud, Arts'50, of Buffalo, NY, has a suggestion for Queen's Archives staff.
Re: "The trouble with e-archives" -- Issue #2-2012
After reading Wayne Grady’s article on e-archives and the problem with replacement parts, I wondered: Have you thought of alerting those alumni who might own old computer equipment and who would be more than happy to see it in use again?

Queen’s Archivist Paul Banfield, MA’85, replies: “Thank you to Moragh Stroud for her suggestion. We have thought of canvassing alumni for outdated equipment to assist us in our work. However, at present, severe space constraints preclude us from pursuing this initiative. Once necessary funding has been secured, allowing for an expansion of the Archives physical space, we’d welcome alumni donations of used computer equipment. For now, we’re only accepting equipment for which we have a pressing need. We welcome specific queries by phone at 613-533-2378, or by e-mail at archives@queensu.ca.” – Ed.
