Graeme Baker Assistant Professor,
Department of Statistics,

I have only fond memories looking back on my time as a graduate student at Queen's University. I expanded my horizons by taking classes in a broad range of mathematical subfields. The professors were all attentive and generous with their time.

Working closely with my advisor, I learned how to pose and tackle research problems in applied mathematics. I was encouraged to take advantage of several opportunities to interact with the broader applied mathematics community at conferences and workshops. My experience as a Master's student at Queen's gave me a solid foundation in mathematics, allowing me to excel in a subsequent PhD program.

Kingston is a great place to live, with a picturesque downtown, and many wonderful restaurants and pubs. I loved getting to know the local places, and there are plenty of fun activities to do in Kingston and the surrounding area.
