Agnes Etherington Art Centre
The Agnes Etherington Art Centre is a research‐intensive art museum that presents and animates high‐quality visual art.
Enjoy our exhibitions of:
- paintings of the Dutch Golden Age from the renowned Bader Collection
- treasures of Canadian historical art
- cutting-edge contemporary art
- African and decorative art
The Agnes reflects the rich cultural life of Queen’s, the city of Kingston, and the wider region of southeastern Ontario. A hub of experiential learning and exchange for the visual arts, the Agnes is a place where great art inspires new ideas. Students and community members from near and far encounter artists, the best visual art of today, and the great artistic traditions of the past in a dozen new exhibitions each year. We also offer classes, hands-on studio workshops, lectures, film screenings, tours and receptions.
Admission for members of the
Queen’s community is free, and
free for all on Thursdays.
As a gallery that thrives on the intersection of diverse eras and art forms, the Agnes fosters interdisciplinary research, supports academic engagement, and offers internships and volunteer experiences, nurturing the spirit of initiative that is at the heart of the Queen’s experience.
Visit our beautiful galleries and the historic Etherington House, or participate in our programs. We welcome visitors year round at our central campus location.
