Android 3.X WiFi QueensuSecure_WPA2 (Queen's Secure Wireless)


Note: Although these instructions are for OS 3.x they may work for other operating systems as well. Android v2.2 has known issues with WPA2.  If you cannot connect with WPA2 use  queensu (Queen's non-secure wireless network).


  1. From the Android Home Screen, select Apps (top right) then select Settings.
  2. From the Settings screen, select Wireless & Networks, and turn WiFi On.
  3. Next select Wi-Fi Settings and the available WiFi networks should be displayed.
  4. Select QueensuSecure_WPA2
  5. Important Note: You must scroll to the top of the configuration screen as it may not display all settings you need to set.
    • Security:  Displaying 802.1x EAP
    • Signal Strength: Displaying Excellent, or very good, or good
    • EAP Method: Select PEAP
    • Phase-2 Authentication: None
    • CA Certificate: (unspecified)
    • User Certificate: (unspecified)
    • Identity: Your NetID goes here
    • Anonymous identity: Leave Blank
    • Password: Your password
    • Proxy Settings: None
    • IP Settings: DHCP
  6. Now select Connect and your device will try to connect to the QueensuSecure_WPA2 Wireless network.
  7. Under Wi-Fi Networks QueensuSecure_WPA2 should now show Connected.
  8. Press the Home button and launch a Web Browser, your device should now connect.
  9. Congratulations, you have configured your Android 3.x device for the QueensuSecure_WPA2 network.
