End-of-Life for Windows XP and Office 2003

As of April 8, 2014, Microsoft ended support for Windows XP and Office 2003. There will be no new security updates or patches for either product. Many third-party software vendors will also cease to support products that run on Windows XP. Anyone continuing to use these products will be at risk for security vulnerabilities.

You are advised to upgrade your operating system to Windows 7 or 8, and to update to the current version of Microsoft Office.

Queen's University has entered a campus-wide agreement with Microsoft for both Windows upgrades and the current version of the Microsoft Office Suite (Windows and Macintosh). This agreement will cover all equipment used by staff, faculty and graduate students. For details, please read the Staff and Faculty Microsoft Licensing Agreement.

Windows can be obtained from the Campus Computer Store, and  Faculty and Staff can download Microsoft Office from the Software Centre in MyQueensU.  Student can download the current version of Microsoft Office from the Microsoft Portal.
