ITServices currently maintains a campus license agreement with SAS Inc. for the JMP statistical software package, which covers JMP versions for MS Windows and Macintosh computers. The JMP software must be used only for teaching, learning and research, as the Queen’s JMP license agreement explicitly stipulates that the software must not be used for administrative purposes.
ITServices makes JMP available only to entire departments, with each department contributing an equal share toward the cost of the Queen’s JMP license. By contributing an annual “share”, a department can provide every faculty member, researcher and graduate student in the department with their own installation of JMP, including a second copy for use at home as required. They may also install JMP on departmental computer labs and clusters for use by students or in courses. The Queen’s JMP License anniversary is late August, and ITServices starts polling current and potential participants in the spring of each year to determine breadth of interest.
Every department obtaining JMP under the Queen’s license agreement is required sign a Queen’s JMP End User License Agreement (EULA), and submit this to ITServices each year.
Departments wishing additional information or to discuss participation in this licensing arrangement, should contact:
Jim Lesslie ( 613-533-2042, firstname.lastname@example.org) in ITServices.
