There are a number of different browsers that can be used to surf the Internet. Some are available for both Windows and Macintosh (e.g. Mozilla Firefox), and some are platform-specific (e.g. Internet Explorer for Windows).
ITServices provides recommendations and advice on browser settings for services such as web proxy, and issues such as pop-ups.
Some Queen's sites may not work correctly on IE unless it is added to the compatibility view list. To determine if the issue is with IE 11 compatibility mode and not the website itself please try to view the site using a different browser such as Firefox.
If the site works fine in Firefox you may have to turn on compatibility mode or add the site to the compatibility list.
