Antivirus Software

 

Your computer or device should be running a reputable antivirus program that regularly updates and installs the latest virus definitions. Make sure that your virus definitions are always current and perform regular scans of your system.

 

Note:  Retirees and alumni are not eligible to obtain Queen's licensed antivirus software.

 

Faculty, Staff and Grad Students

Queen's faculty, staff and grad students are licensed to use Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection (SCEP).  Licensed users can log in to MyQueensU and download the software from the link found under Software Centre.

Undergraduate Students

Queen's University does not have licensed antivirus software for undergraduate student use. 

  • ITServices recommends Microsoft Security Essentials for unlicensed Windows 7 users. 
  • Windows 8 comes pre-installed with Windows Defender and does not require you to install Security Essentials. 
  • Mac OS X users are encouraged to source an antivirus product of their choice.
