ITServices is pleased to announce that J. Richard Webb, Coordinator of Audio-Visual Services, has been appointed as President of the Ontario University Educational Technology Directors (OUETD), effective 2 May 2008. Mr. Webb was elected by his peers and will serve a two-year term. Formerly known as the Ontario University Media Directors, the OUETD is a forum which explores the effective use of educational technology in teaching and learning within the Ontario university system.
Since its inception under its current name in 2003, the OUETD has attracted considerable interest from other universities across Canada. The University of Calgary has been in attendance at the annual meetings of the OUETD over the past several years, and three other western university also attended the group's annual meeting this spring. In addition, the OUETD has been meeting regularly with its Québec counterpart, Regroupement des Services Audiovisuels des Universités du Québec (RSAU).
