Class Schedule Subscription FAQs

  • Q. My URL doesn't appear in MyQueensU.

    The class schedule subscription feeds are created from the data available in SOLUS. Not all class schedule data is available in SOLUS. If you do have class schedule data in SOLUS but your URL doesn't appear, please contact the IT Support Centre at 613.533.6666 for assistance

  • Q. My class schedule data doesn't appear.

     

    1. Confirm the data in your SOLUS calendar is correct, as it is the authoritative source.  If SOLUS is incorrect, contact the Registrar office via email at solus@queensu.ca or by phone at 613-533-2040
    2. Complete the tutorial steps for our supported method of subscribing to your Queen’s calendar, to confirm that the subscription is correct. If SOLUS is correct and you still can't see your data, contact the IT Support Centre at 613.533.6666.
    3. Data for upcoming courses should appear 60 days before the first class. For example, if your first class is Tuesday September 9, you should see the data on July 11th.
    4. This service may not work on older versions of mobile device operating systems.
  • Q. How do I see my class schedule in Google calendar or Apple Calendar or other 3rd party calendaring system?

    ITServices does not support subscribing to or importing your calendar in Google or any other 3rd party service and users will be at their own risk if choosing to do so.

    • Q. My Add/Drop changes do not appear

      The feeds are updated regularly, although there will be some time delay for any add/drop changes.  The time when changes will appear in your calendar application will also depend on the settings for that application. SOLUS is the authority for timetable data.

    • Q. My class schedule in my calendar doesn't match what is in SOLUS.

      If you followed the instructions in the tutorials to subscribe to your class schedule in your calendar updates in SOLUS should appear - although there may be a delay.  The feed is updated daily.  

      If you imported your class schedule rather than subscribing to it it's possible for you to edit the data and no changes in SOLUS will be transmitted.  Importing your class schedule is not recommended and is not supported by ITServices.

    • Q. My class schedule shows multiple events when I have a class or lab with multiple rooms.

      Overlapping events will appear in your class schedule whenever conflicts due to multiple rooms appear in SOLUS.
