Queen's University

The Campus Computer Store has been designated an official e-waste drop-off centre by Queen's Physical Plant Waste Services and is able to assist in the appropriate disposal of computers, monitors, printer, ink and toner cartridges, batteries, and much more. Whether you are an employee or a student, you can drop off your gear from work or home, Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

To dispose of equipment owned by Queen's that does, or may, contain confidential information, you may bring the unit to the store. Before the equipment is transferred to Physical Plant Services (PPS) for recycling, we will remove all hard drives and securely dispose of them. If you have already removed the hard drive, please fill out the drive degaussing request form. If there is a large volume of computers to dispose of, the drives should be removed from the units, as well as from any mount that may be attached, and sent to the store on their own. You may then contact PPS at to have the rest of the hardware picked up.

We also accept all ink and toner cartridges for recycling. Simply pack them up, mark "for recycling" and ship them to the Computer Store.

Getting Started

  • Computer equipment must be owned by Queen's, or must have been purchased from the store.
  • If the equipment is owned by Queen's, you must have the current account code of the department to which the equipment belongs. The account code is used for internal tracking purposes only.

  • There is no cost for this service.
