DEVS 305: Cuban Culture and Society

Experience Cuba with Queen’s Global Development Studies Department.

In 2014 DEVS 305 will start in the Winter semester at Queen's, before students finish the course by spending two weeks at the University of Havana in May. Students will learn about Cuban culture, society, and politics with a focus on the Cuban revolution (1959) to the present.

During the Winter semester students will meet weekly, in 3-hour evening seminar groupings at Queen’s and follow a structured reading list. The last two weeks will be spent studying at the University of Havana in Cuba and participating in class excursions of the area.
