Queen's University

International Education Week: 15-19 November 2010

In recognition of International Education Week 2010, the IPO has organized some information sessions about unique international learning opportunities for Queen's students as well as showcasing the experience of an Arts and Science student who did an internship in Cape Town, South Africa this past summer.   The theme for IE Week this year is Canada Partnering with the World.   There are many international study opportunities available to Arts and Science undergraduate students and with this theme in mind, the IPO wanted to focus on some excellent exchange and study abroad programs that students may not be familiar with in comparison to the bilateral exchanges and BISC programs.

There will be an information session about the suite of consortial exchange programs offered by Ontario Universities International which provides study and research opportunities in China, France, Germany and India.  There will also be a session about the award-winning DEVS-Fudan Semester Abroad in Shanghai program which allows Queen's students to take Queen's Development Studies courses at Fudan University in China.

We are also very pleased to promote and support a presentation by 4th-year Global Development Studies student Selena Zhang who was sponsored by the AUCC Students for Development program to work as an intern with the Urban Agriculture Unit in the municipal government in Cape Town, South Africa.

Please consider joining us for one or all of these sessions to THINK INTERNATIONAL!  For more information about the session dates, times and locations, please visit the Events & Deadlines section of our website.
