Ming is a self-taught photographer who has always had a fascination with photographic imagery. When the age of digital arrived, his interest soared as this new medium allowed for incredible freedom and experimentation. One of the beauties of the craft that Ming cherishes most is the ability to preserve a moment in time for future reflection. It could be a stunning vista, or a unique object or perspective. We’ve all experienced the emotions of an image that captures a seemingly forgettable event, or fleeting expression that ‑ if it were not for the time capsule provided by the photograph ‑ would have been be lost forever.
“To me, this image of a sunflower ‘reaching’ for the sun has always symbolized growth, strength, and perseverance. When I was asked to participate in the “Woman Recreated” initiative, this image ‑ captured in the morning light of late summer ‑ immediately struck me as one whose spirit was perfectly in sync with this project.”
