Research Employee Contract Renewals and Salary Review

There have been changes to the research staff salary review process this year. Please follow the instructions below on renewing research contracts and how the July 1, 2013 salary increase program will be applied.

To renew a contract with a start date prior to July 1, 2013:

Renew the contract at the employee's existing salary step. The July 1, 2013 salary increase program will be automatically applied by Human Resources.

To renew a contract with a start date of July 1, 2013 or later:

Renew the contract at the employee's new salary step (if not at the top of their salary grid). The July 1, 2013 salary increase program will not be applied by Human Resources.

If you have already submitted a contract for renewal and the salary step is not consistent with the instructions outlined above, you do not need to take further action. Your HR Advisor will update the salary once the contract is assigned to Human Resources.

If you have saved a contract for renewal in "draft status" and the salary step is not consistent with the instructions outlined above, we would ask that you revise the salary step prior to submitting the contract.

For your information, the Confidential & Research Staff salary grids for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 are available on the HR website, Total Compensation page.

If you are unsure of the research employee's salary step or have any questions about research contract renewals, your HR Advisor is happy to help.
