The History Department extends a warm welcome to our new Marjorie McLean Oliver Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Megan Welton.

Megan is currently in the process of completing a book manuscript based on her dissertation, which she completed in 2018, entitled Crowned with Virtue: Political Discourse and Ruling Women in Tenth-Century Europe. While at Queen's, Megan plans to begin a new project titled Trials of Virtue: Crisis and Communities in the Early Medieval World, c.400-c.1100.

In Winter 2023, Megan will teach HIST 241-002: Topics in History: Combating Crisis in the Global Middle Ages (3.0 units). This lecture course will explore how individuals and communities reacted to catastrophes of all shades in the Middle Ages.
