Joanne Archibald (PhD Candidate) awarded The Donald S. Rickerd Fellowship in Canadian-American Studies

Joanne Archibald (PhD Candidate) has been awarded the 2023-24 Donald S. Rickerd Fellowship in Canadian-American Studies.

This fellowship is given to graduate students working on any aspect of Canadian-American Studies, including bilateral relations and comparative studies and is valued at $20,000.

Joanne's research interests include Canada’s military and political history, Canada’s role in international alliances, and the formation and growth of the Canadian identity. She is also interested in relationships between political and military leaders and examines the relationship between Canadian Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent and various military leaders in the early Cold War (1948-1958). Joanne is completing her PhD with Dr. Allan English.
