Building water shutdowns are scheduled for the Queen's Centre and School of Kinesiology and Health Studies on Wednesday, Sept. 13 beginning 12:30 am and extending until 6 am to permit Kelson Mechanical, working on behalf of Ellis Don, to offset the 200mm water service located in the tunnel between these two buildings.

During the shutdown period, there will not be any domestic water available for hand washing, flushing toilets, commercial kitchen, or lab use (equipment, safety showers and eye wash stations). In addition, the fire suppression systems will not have any water, so a security contractor will be conducting a fire watch until water service is restored.

Please note:

  • If anyone in either of the above-referenced buildings encounters smoke or fire during the shutdown period, they should activate the nearest fire alarm pull station and then evacuate the building immediately – do not use elevators -  and proceed to their designated meeting location according to established fire safety plans.
  • There will be no cooling available in the buildings.
