Queen’s remembers staff member Katie Hogarth

The Queen’s community is remembering Katie Hogarth, a staff member with Queen’s Hospitality Services, who died Sunday, Sept. 17 at the age of 40.

Katie is lovingly remembered by her partner Michael Crowder-Gard, a sous chef at Queen’s University, and their twin daughters, as well as by her many co-workers and friends.

“Katie was a long-standing employee with Queen’s Hospitality Services and worked in a variety of roles across our campus services, including catering, retail, and the residence dining halls,” says Jennifer Pete, Director, Business Development and Communications, Housing and Ancillary Services. “Katie was well-known for her hard work and dedication to customer service. She invoked a positive approach and pride in all of her work and was well-respected by her colleagues. She will be dearly missed across all areas of the operations.”

Flags will be lowered on campus in Katie’s memory on Friday, Sept. 22.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, followed by a funeral on Saturday, Sept. 23 As according to Katie’s wishes, the cortege route will include campus and travel along Bader Lane.
