Students whose placements are outside Canada, and those whose placements are in remote or otherwise risky locations in Canada, are required to review the Off-Campus Activity Safety Policy (OCASP) and complete “Form1”. You can complete this form online through the Data Warehouse located at http://www.safety.queensu.ca/ocasp/. This is mandatory, but not graded.
Students whose placements are outside Canada or in remote areas of Canada are also required to sign up and attend a Pre-departure Orientation session with the Queen’s International Centre, JDUC, and complete all the documentation required by Queen’s University prior to departure. You can register at the International Centre in person or by phone 613.533.2604 or by emailing the Education Abroad Programme staff at EAA@post.queensu.ca. This is mandatory but not graded.
Students working in community placements within Canada are also encouraged to complete the orientation programme.
It is required that you have Supplemental Health Insurance that covers international travel. Please ensure that your policy has adequate out-of-country health and medical insurance coverage to guarantee optimal health care for yourself and to protect you from significant financial expenses while abroad.

Within two weeks of the conclusion of your placement, and in pursuant with Queen’s Off-Campus Activity Safety Policy (OCASP), you are required to complete a “Post Activity Incident Form” to report a critical or non-critical incident during your placement. You can complete this form online through the Data Warehouse located at http://www.safety.queensu.ca/policy/activity/. This is mandatory but not graded.
