The majority of DEVS courses are campus-based and offered in lecture and/or seminar format. First and second years classes tend to be larger and lecture based but offer smaller tutorial sections of 20-25 students, providing an opportunity to engage with teaching assistants and/or instructors and encouraging debate and discussion amongst students.
Class sizes in upper years are generally smaller, allowing for closer contact between students and faculty. Most DEVS courses are open to students from all departments at Queen’s but some are restricted to DEVS concentrators. In all cases, students must have the necessary prerequisites and/or permission from the instructor.
