The Centre for Teaching and Learning would like to invite you to join a community of faculty members at similar career stages to support you in your role a teacher.

As a new faculty member your professional responsibilities to the university encompass teaching, research, scholarly and professional practice, and service to the university. Teaching Matters is program which has been specifically developed for new and pre-tenured faculty to assist you with understanding and developing yourself as a teacher.
Throughout the academic year you will be invited to scheduled informal sessions to meet, share and discuss issues that are related to teaching success here at Queen's (typically 60 – 90 minutes). These sessions may include:
Teaching and Learning @ Queen's
– A discussion with Jill Scott, Vice-Provost (Teaching and Learning)
Getting Prepared For Your First Course
Collecting Feedback on Your Teaching
Tenure and Promotion
Developing Yourself as a Teacher
Other sessions may be scheduled as requested. Times of these sessions will be determined by availability.
You will have the opportunity meet with Educational Developers from the CTL for individual consultations.
You will receive specific invitations to CTL activities that are directly related to you. The Listserv can also be a means to communicate and discuss issues by participants.
You will have the opportunity to invite an Educational Developer to observe you teach and receive feedback.
You will receive assistance in developing your teaching dossier for personal development and for tenure and promotion.
