Principles of biochemistry. Individual topics are described under BCHM 315 and 316. Laboratory every other week. Enrolment will be limited because of laboratory constraints, and selection will be based on academic standing. (0/90/0/0/0) PREREQUISITES: ENCH 281 (CHEM 281) and CHEM 282, or ENCH 211 (CHEM 211) and ENCH 212 (CHEM 212) and ENCH 245 (CHEM 245), or permission of the Department.

BCHM 315 Proteins and Enzymes F 3-0-0 3
Principles of protein biochemistry, enzymology, and protein engineering. (0/36/0/0/0) PREREQUISITES: ENCH 281 (CHEM 281) and CHEM 282, or ENCH 211 (CHEM 211) and ENCH 212 (CHEM 212) and ENCH 245 (CHEM 245), or permission of the department.

BCHM 410 Protein Structure and Function F 3-0-0 3
This course presents an integrated approach to the study of protein function. Topics include proteomic techniques, mass spectrometry, protein purification, imaging, surface plasmon resonance, calorimetry, bioinformatics and protein evolution, protein modifications and processing, interpretation and applications of 3-D structure, and structure-function relationships.  (0/36/0/0/0)
NOTE: Offered jointly with BCHM 810*.
PREREQUISITE: Permission of the Department.
