Preparing for Your Arrival

Moving to study in another country requires a lot of preparation which can at first seem a bit overwhelming.

As a matter of priority, once you have been accepted you should:

  • Ensure you have a valid passport
  • Have permission to enter the UK to study as a student - see Immigration for more information
  • Arrange for supplemental health insurance for the duration of your stay in the UK
  • Submit the following information via the online portal:
    • residence application
    • any necessary accommodations (academic, dietary, etc.) - please make sure you submit the correct documentation
    • your emergency contacts
    • whether you have supplementary health insurance
    • your arrivals information
    • passport

Different pieces of information are required at different times. Please check your email to see when these deadlines are. You can go into the online portal and update information on an ongoing basis, up until the relevant deadline has passed.

The following pages provide essential information to help you achieve this, and ensure you are fully equipped for your arrival into the UK and ready to begin your studies at the BISC.
