IT at the BISC

The Castle has excellent IT facilities, with two friendly, dedicated staff members to help students with their computing needs.

A photo of one of the computer labs on site

  • There are three computer labs on campus that are accessible 24 hours a day. Two of these labs are located in Bader Hall, and one in the Castle. Each lab is equipped with a number of desktop PCs and a networked laser printer
  • There are additional computer terminals in the Castle reading room and Bader Hall reception
  • The campus has a high speed wireless service that is available throughout the Castle, courtyard, and Bader Hall. The wi-fi system offers secure, encrypted wireless access
  • Each student room in the residence building is also equipped with two high speed Ethernet ports
  • Students are given 20 free printing credits per course. Additional credits may be purchased cheaply at the Bader Reception Desk.  You can print to any of the printers in the BISC labs either from the lab computers or directly from your laptop. Students also have access to a scanner and colour printing is available
  • It is also possible to lease a laptop from the BISC if you don’t bring your own with you
  • The I.T. staff have offices in the Castle and are available to provide I.T. support from Monday to Friday
