loosestrifeNew research shows that northern climate may limit further expansion of invasive purple loostrife.

Purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) has been shown to negatively impact native species and habitats in a variety of ways (e.g. ) Since its introduction from Europe it rapidly expanded its range. Recent work by Robert Colautti, (recent Ph.D. graduate from University of Toronto's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Ecology – co-supervised by Chris Eckert). The results are published online this week in the Proceedings of the Royal Society of London, series B and featured in Nature.
