Colleen Greer (M.Sc., Biology, Supervisor: Peter Hodson), has received an award from the Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) ADM for service to Canada's Gulf Oil Spill response.  Colleen was doing her MSc research at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography with DFO's Centre for Offshore Oil, Gas, and Energy Research (COOGER).  A team from COOGER worked on a
collaborative project with the USEPA to track the deep sub-surface plume of oil from the Deepwater Horizon Spill.  Because the project lasted a long time, the team needed additional members to cycle in an out of the Gulf, and Colleen volunteered and spent about 10 days on a ship assisting with sampling and analysis.
