Congratulations on your acceptance to Queen’s! Now it is time to explore what Queen’s Music, the Faculty of Arts and Science, and Kingston have to offer so you can determine if Queen’s is the right fit for you.  

As a Queen’s Music student, you’ll obtain a solid education in western classical music, from the ancient to the postmodern, while pursuing a wide variety of courses in applied study (performance), musicology/ethnomusicology, music education, music theatre, theory, and composition. As a Queen’s Music student, you’ll also: 

  • enjoy flexibility in your course options - from our comprehensive DAN School offerings in music, drama, and music theatre, to arts management and entrepreneurship 
  • have access to state-of-the-art studios, seminars and workshops, theatres, and multi-media spaces 
  • learn in the Queen's Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. Its world-renowned performance hall and waterfront rehearsal room make for an inspiring place to learn 
  • attend, and be featured in, the Mosaic concert series, which consists of four to six concerts per academic year

A Glimpse into First Year 

Your first-year experience will be completely unique to you. You will have the opportunity to pick your own classes, join clubs, meet new people, and explore your passions and interests. 

  • Live in a residence building on-campus, or live off-campus in beautiful Kingston – no matter where you live, you’ll have the chance to feel connected to campus, students, and the city. 
  • Choose from a range of courses in music, drama, music theatre, arts management and entrepreneurship, to narrow down your passions 
  • Partake in one of many student-run clubs and groups, such as the Queen's Musical Theatre Association and the Queen's Chamber Orchestra.
