Dr. Natasha Bissonauth, a specialist in contemporary South Asian trans, queer, and feminist art, will be visiting from York University.

On September 27, 6:30–7:50pm, in Kingston Hall 301, Dr. Bissonauth will deliver a guest lecture entitled “Amrita Sher-Gil and Postcolonial Modernism in South Asia," to students in ARTH 226: Modern Arts in a Globalizing World. Those not in the class who wish to attend should email Prof. Allison Morehead (morehead@queensu.ca) to ensure there is space. 

Dr. Bissonauth will also be leading a seminar for graduate students on methods in Black and Brown art histories and queer of colour aesthetics. Co-sponsored by the Departments of Art History and Art Conservation and Gender Studies, this seminar will take place on September 26th, 12–1:30pm, in Ontario Hall 210.
