Dear Queen's Supporter,
“This award will be my biggest stress reliever. Through this funding, I will be able to dedicate more time to my Queen’s experience instead of having to worry about my finances.”
These words are from Allan Lee, a first-year Commerce student. This past fall, Allan was the inaugural recipient of the Commerce Class of 1980 Award, created by my class to help academic achievers who need financial assistance to pursue their educational dreams.
We need to ensure that all exceptional students, like Allan (above), can attend queen's School of Business, regardless of their financial realities.
Because we are grateful for our experience at Queen’s School of Business, our class, like so many others, decided to give something back. Thanks to that collective generosity, students like Allan will benefit, but the impact of these gifts will extend far beyond Queen’s. Our students will go on to change the world — by creating businesses and introducing innovations to transform business and society.
With some of his financial worries eased thanks to the Award, Allan can consider pursuing challenging summer internships that he would not have been able to explore otherwise. Allan also aspires to make a difference himself: “I hope that one day I will be able to have a similar impact on a student. I won’t forget the support I have received.”
With the philanthropic support and leadership of alumni like you and me, we can help Queen’s students reach their goals by equipping them with the necessary skills they need to embrace a future filled with promise and opportunity. But they can’t do it without us.
Please invest in this next generation of students by joining me in supporting the Queen’s School of Business Developing Leaders Fund, where every gift creates opportunity.
