Zahra graduated from the Concurrent Education program at Queen's University in 2004. During her time at Queen’s she worked for the Queen’s Telefundraising Services working her way up to being the supervisor in her final year of graduation. She was also involved with the ThankQ Program as the Co-Chair and was the Director of the National Technology Youth Leadership conference working closely with the office of the Dean of Arts and Science.
After graduation Zahra worked at Queen's as the Alumni Officer, Students. Upon her return to Toronto, Zahra worked at York University as the Annual Programs Officer and at St. Clement’s as the manager of annual giving and major gifts. In 2008, she started at Branksome Hall, an IB World School for girls and was promoted to Executive Director of Advancement in 2012.
Zahra volunteered as the Treasurer for the Queen's Toronto Branch Executive, Co-Chair of the 2008 John Orr Dinner and Dance and served on the Board of Directors for the June Callwood Centre. Her current volunteer efforts include: Queen’s University Council Member and Panel Chair for the Toronto United Way Allocations Committee.
