This award recognizes a current Queen's student who has demonstrated achievement in two or more of the following areas: leadership; academic, athletic or artistic achievement; voluntary service abroad; service to their community and/ or the University; and in particular, support of the Queen's University Alumni Association. The student's contributions can be made in the year of nomination or over several years. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, retirees, and members of the public are invited to submit nominations.
Rico embodies the Queen’s spirit. While working towards his honours degree in economics and global development studies, he has also volunteered in many areas across campus – with the Queen’s Student Alumni Association, Arts and Science Undergraduate Society, CFRC Radio, ASUS, and the Board of Trustees, just to name a few. Rico has shown his commitment to engaging people across the university, from his work as a Residence Don to his support of the launch of the Queen’s Initiative Campaign.
