Motivational speaker needed for Shine Rally
September 8
Shinerama is the national campaign that raises money for Cystic Fibrosis research. The Shine Rally, held during Orientation Week, introduces frosh to Shinerama, and gets them involved in fundraising and community initiatives. The student coordinators for this year’s Shine Rally would like to invite a Queen's alumnus who has personal experience of CF or been involved in community leadership initiatives to give a motivational speech at this year’s event on Queen's campus. Queen’s Football Club 13th Man Dinner/Dance April 20
Join your fellow alumni in Toronto for the first annual 13th Man Dinner/Dance fundraiser for the Queen’s Football Club and enjoy a fun evening of dinner, dancing and socializing. This inaugural event features speaker Russ Jackson—who has been described as the best Canadian-born quarterback to play in the Canadian Football League—and Beatles cover band The Rattles. Toronto Speaker event with Professor Nick Bala May 9, 5:30 – 7:30 pm Join the Toronto Branch for a reception at the National Club with Queen’s professor Nick Bala, an internationally respected expert in the family and children’s law. Professor Bala’s presentation will focus on polygamy and Sharia family arbitration in Canada, both of which have been the subject of recent attention and controversy. Fifth anniversary music concert June 1 The Queen's Conservatory of Music, which is housed in Queen’s School of Music, offers a wide range of musical educational opportunities to people from both Queen's and the greater Kingston community. QCM celebrates its fifth anniversary this year with a community concert at Chalmers United Church in Kingston, featuring QCM instructors from past and present in a variety of chamber music combinations.
