Class Reunion Plans: October 18 - 20, 2013

The following letter was mailed to your class at the end of April. If you did not receive it, please email reunions@queensu.ca to ensure that your contact information is up to date.

Dear Fellow Classmates:

You have concurrently received this letter, along with your Tricolour Guard Registration Package containing details of the Homecoming weekend for our reunion on the weekend of October 18 – 20, 2013. In addition to the events outlined in the package, Arts’53 has planned the following:

• Friday, October 18th: a reception and dinner at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel beginning at 6:15P.M. There will be a cash bar and individuals will have a choice between two entrees. This will be an excellent opportunity for our year to get together and catch up with what has transpired since we last met.
• Following the football game on Saturday, October 19th, prior to the Tricolour Guard Reception and Dinner, there will be a private reception at the home of Dr. Wendy Craig at 164 MacDonnell Street, Kingston between 4:00 P.M. and 5:45 P.M. If planning to attend, please RSVP to jimbocraig2007@gmail.com.

The above are small additions to the package planned by the University. I hope that you will partake in as many of these events as possible. 

The football game – Queen’s vs. Guelph – will bring back memories and you are assured a warm welcome on the alumni walk around the field at half time. The Reunions Office has informed me there will be golf carts available during the parade to assist those of us who might need a lift. If you will need a cart please send a quick email to reunions@queensu.ca or phone 800.267.7837, ext. 77903 and let them know.

Transportation will be provided throughout the weekend as part of our package. The Tricolour Guard Dinner on Saturday is always a highlight.

Please take a moment to register for the weekend by completing the enclosed form and returning it by mail, email, or fax to the Reunions Office, or visit www.queensu.ca/Homecoming2013 and click on the “Tricolour Guard Registration” button.     

It will be an extraordinary weekend, one not to be missed, full of memories, nostalgia, and comradeship. Do not miss this chance to return 60 years after our graduation to partake in our reunion at a special university.

Accommodation

Queen’s has booked for the Tricolour Guard a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn on the downtown waterfront. To reserve, call the hotel directly at 613-549-8400 and book a room under the Queen’s Tricolour Guard Block, booking code TCG. Remember that available accommodation may fill up well before the reunion weekend so make your reservation early to avoid disappointment.
