In January 2010, Principal Daniel Woolf released a vision document to initiate discussions across campus about Queen's future direction and priorities. This document signified the launch of a year-long academic planning process and was organized around the imperative for Queen's to consider Innovation, Interdisciplinarity, Internationalization, and Imagination in all that we do.
Responses to "Where Next" from both academic and non-academic units will provide critical outcomes in terms of identifying academic priorities and developing Queen's long-term vision.
Advancement's response to "Where Next" stimulated lively discussions among colleagues. The final result is collaborative document representing input from each portfolio within Advancement. We will use this document as the framework for the development of Advancement's strategic plan.
In the spring of 2010 Advancement will begin working on a strategic plan that will provide the vision and direction for the Office of Advancement for the next five years. This plan will guide our path forward through the launch of the upcoming Capital Campaign and beyond, and address some bold and imaginative goals for the departments of Development & Major Gifts, Alumni Relations, Marketing & Communications and Advancement Services. We will strive to answer and address some of the ideas and questions raised in our response to "Where Next" with innovative planning, actionable deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
The Advancement strategic plan will drive all decisions, including budget and resource planning, and we hope it will actively engage and provide clear direction for all Advancement staff in enabling our vision and objectives in support of the academic mission of Queen's University.
We encourage you to read the Office of Advancement's response to "Where Next", and hope that it both educates and engages the reader. We welcome any and all feedback.
