Ellie Sadinsky has been appointed Director, University Communications.
Ms. Sadinsky is a seasoned communications professional with extensive public sector experience and a journalism background. She has enjoyed a 10 year career with the Ontario Public Service in Toronto, where she held progressively senior positions in media relations, issues management, and communications, including six years as Director of Communications at the Ministry of the Attorney General.
For the last several months, she has worked as Director of Operations at Cabinet Office Communications, where she has networked with staff across government in support of a move to an integrated marketing approach to government communications.
Prior to joining the OPS, Ellie was a reporter and anchor at CFRB Radio and 680 News in Toronto. She covered a broad range of issues, including federal, provincial and municipal politics, health care, education, labour, the arts, the courts and the police beat.
Ellie has a B.A. from the University of King’s College in Halifax, and a B.A.A. in Journalism from Ryerson.
She is a Kingstonian with many family ties to Queen’s. Her grandfather and father were professors; her parents and uncle are alumni. She grew up near campus, and Queen’s served as her model of a university and all it has to offer. Ellie looks forward to returning to Kingston in the new year to lead the university’s communications programs and services.
